Dear Patrick

On behalf of the AZ PAS, and personally, I want to thank you for your support of Dr. John Pennington's appearance as our guest clinician and artist at our 34th Annual AZ PAS Festival of Percussion we hosted here last weekend. The Festival was a great success greatly due to John's outstanding contributions as guest clinician and adjudicator at our morning Solo & Ensemble festival.

The Cooperman "packets" of sticks and materials were greatly appreciated and a big hit!John's clinic was hands-on interactive and he presented the information on hand drumming techniques and styles with clarity and a musical approach. The audience participated, were exposed to many concepts and, I feel learned a great deal. John's entire demeanor and commitment to playing and teaching is so conducive of fine learning, that coupled with his musical sensitivity on the fantastic Cooperman products, gave everyone a pleasurable and memorable experience. Thanks again for your support of the AZ PAS. I'm attaching a program in pdf. You'll see we thanked our sponsors throughout and, of course, from stage with announcements.

Sincerely,

Gary

Dear John,

Congratulations on a tremendously successful performance last night. It was a great program and well performed! I am so excited for the students to be participants in PASC. What an incredible privilege that you have made possible. I imagine that for some, it will be a while before they come to understand the significance.

All the best,
Brian Wagner, Director

John,

I was able to stay for the first piece on the program last night.  What a wonderful performance!  The entire ensemble clearly understood the aesthetic of the music and the cohesiveness and sonic beauty werebreath-taking.  It was a truly beautiful experience--thank you for sharing this project with us.  It is heartening to know of that such thoughtful music-making is happening in the percussion world.

Warmly,

Matthew Bassett, Cleveland State University

Dr. Pennington.

Thank you for a remarkable concert featuring American Gamelan in Huntington Recital Hall yesterday.  Many positive comments from students after the concert. The ensemble has such a powerfully evocative sound.

My compliments to you all for your hard work and the best to you this weekend at PASIC.

Sincerely,

Eric Paton, Assistant Professor, World Music Lab, Capital University

Hello Mr. Pennington,

I greatly appreciated the unique experience you and your students gave at PASIC this last weekend.  I have never experienced a live performance of Gamelan music and I was truly amazed with your group's performance.

Thank you very much for offering what was a very unique part of my weekend.

Hello Mr. Cooperman,

Arizona PAS held our bi-annual festival of percussion this past weekend in Tucson at the University of Arizona.

John Pennington gave an exciting clinic on hand drumming.  His clinic included student participation and was very well received.  Thank you for your supporting John's appearance in Arizona.

Sincerely,

Thomas Murphy, Arizona PAS
